I love anything green; agriculture, energy etc and I will always promote the attainment of a green Nigeria. Nigeria can truly go green, if we can work on introducing both relevant technologies and the tech drivers.
On Wednesday 27th November, 2019 EcoQuest and GIRD Consult hit the city of Ilorin in preparation for a 2 day introduction to GIS for Agriculture (GIS4A).
EcoQuest Lab is an environmental company located in Oyo state of Nigeria with focus on environmental issues and how to use tech to solve some of these environmental issues. They seek to solve these problems with SDGs goals in mind. I guess you understand why I am involved now. Thanks to the Chief ( Mr Ismail Alatise ) for asking me to come in as a facilitator and help in the practical session. At least I was given the opportunity to practice what have been trained in. I was trained in Kebbi state on the practical use and application of GIS using ARCGIS and in Oyo state i was trained on how to use QGIS with support from GIZ
GIRD Consult is one organization with its head office in Ilorin city. They are into environmental research and Environmental Impact Assessment projects. Don't mind me, it is just that i can't wear the 2 vest all at the same time but I consult for the 2 companies.
On Thursday 28th November I gave a speech on "The Power of Leadership and Networking" this because we believed in the research that state that 75% of organization in our world now hit their organizational goal due to their leadership strength and most contracts come through referral and word of mouth. The presentation to make these final year students understand how they can leverage on power of networking to achieve future success and of course how to lead themselves and others.
Friday 29th November, 2019 was dedicated to practical sessions alone.
